About Me
My name is Tiffany Peacock. I am an educator, a scholar, a visionary, and a woman on a mission. Originally from Lexington, South Carolina, I was born and raised in the South. Ever since I was young, I knew that I wanted to make a difference and advocate for change. Because of this drive, I yearn for the knowledge and tools to guide me through the multi-layered complexities of the world. Currently, I am a doctoral student in the Department of Global Sociocultural Studies at Florida International University (FIU).
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and History (2017), with a Master of Arts in Anthropology (2019) from the University of South Carolina. I additionally obtained a MA in African and African Diaspora Studies. I intend to specialize in Sociocultural Anthropology to answer research questions surrounding topics of identity/cultural expression, social constructions of race, and post-colonial social and political movements of the African Diaspora. As a passionate scholar, I aim to empower and engage more audiences to value anthropological research as a powerful asset in deconstructing and examining the complexities of this world.
When I am not studying or developing my research, some of my hobbies include spending time outdoors, listening to music, volunteering in the community, and engaging in exercise. I also like to spend time with my close friends and family. Although my work involves a lot of reading and writing, I do still love to get lost inside of a good book while also writing down my thoughts about life.
